Colour Pop Ulta-Matte Lip Review

Hello lifestylers,

I know it has been a while, but I have been extremely busy with school. Nonetheless, some of you may already know I am lipstick junkie.  I recently receive several lip products which I have not been able to review until now. The past few weeks I have been obsessed with Colour Pop Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks. Let’s get on with the show!

Product Information

Colour Pop claims their formula is lightweight making it easy to glide onto the lips. Leaving a super intense color with a bold ultra-matte finish. They also claim to be long wearing and kiss proof formula.

Application Tips

Before applying the product, lips should be bare and dry. It is recommended to exfoliate for a smooth finish.  Outline the lips with a matching lipliner before applying the liquid lipstick. Colour pop recommend storing the lipsticks upright shake well before using.

Ultra-Matte Shades

The Foxy mini collection comes in five shades.

1     Beeper is a warm mid-tone taupe shade. It is a great the daytime color.

2    Clueless is a dusty mauve pink shade. Also, another color that can be used during the day.

3     Tulle is a dusty mauve, burgundy shade. I absolutely love this color it is one of my favorite.

4     Creeper is a real classic blue, red shade. Another great color that I love makes a great evening look.

5     More Better is a deep violet wine shade. This color is perfect for fall and also absolutely one of my favorite as well.

My Thoughts

I picked up the Mini set for a couple of reasons. First I wanted to invest in several colors as oppose to one full-size lipstick. Second, I noticed that’s for $18.00 I would get five different shades which in my opinion is a good deal.  In my opinion, this liquid ultra-matte lipstick is a long-lasting formula. The colors are beautiful and can be used for a day or night time look. After using these liquid lipsticks consecutively on hot weather days, it did dry my lips.  My suggestion is to apply a moisturizing lip balm before the liquid lipstick this should help minimize drying your lips. I do see myself purchasing the full-size bottles of each color shortly. Do I recommend this product? I sure do! They extremely affordable are long lasting. Until next time Lifestylers xoxo!

Beauty Time

In a previous post “I am Still a Woman”, I stated that our inner beauty is important. However, I also believe in getting pampered and feeling pretty for yourself and not for others. We are all aware that people judge a book by its cover, and I know this by experience. Let’s face it, when people see us (wheelchair user), the first thing they notice is our wheelchair. If they are mature enough to see beyond the wheelchair, then perhaps our beauty will be notice. Just because I cannot walk does not mean I cannot feel pretty.

As a teenager, I had a personal hairdresser come to my apartment once a month. Having my hairdresser come to my home, was an excellent idea. It made things easier for the three of us (my caregiver, my hairdresser, and myself). I did not have to struggle to get out of my wheelchair to get my hair wash. After, a couple of years my hairdresser moved away. I had my share of inpatient hairdressers. Nonetheless, some excellent workers do not mind accommodating their clients. I currently have a great person who does my hair, and she is very patient. If you are some who requires accommodations communication is essential. As a consumer, you may be necessary to bring specialized equipment you may use at home to wash your hair. My wheelchair tilts which is helpful when I get my brows done.

Don’t be discourage if you cannot find a salon where you feel comfortable. It is a work in the process do not settle for less. Sooner or later you will come across caring professional people. What I want you to know is that we can and are beautiful women no matter what. Do not allow your disability to get in the way of maintaining your hair, your face, and body. Go out there and get pampered! It is time focus on yourself!

I’m Still a Woman

Hi Lifestylers,

Living with a physical disability can be difficult for many people. Disabled women often struggle with self-esteem. However, as a lady who was born with a neuromuscular disease (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and who is wheelchair bound my condition has not defined who I am. I do not feel less than of a woman because of my situation. Although society has implied over and over that outer beauty is important, it is not what makes a woman. Any type of physical disability can lower a person’s self-esteem regardless of their gender.

In my situation, I have experienced positive relationships with the opposite sex (able body), and I choose to only to date only able body men. There is no doubt that people observe my black electric wheelchair before they notice me. However, I completely understand that my wheelchair is a part of my life, and I cannot nor would I change it. Don’t get me wrong I did struggle with my self-esteem in the past (as a teenager), but I was surrounded by great people who helped me realize what is truly important. As a grown woman, I understand inner beauty is more important than outer beauty.

I like to share with you have few techniques that help me stay optimistic regardless of my everyday struggles. I believe in a higher power who helps me when I am having a bad day (because I do have those). Reading self- help books is something I enjoy and also is helpful. My most recent audiobook I like is The Year of Yes by Shondra Rhimes. I highly recommend this book it is truly divine and motivational.

Authenticity is important to me I cannot pretend to be someone I am not. I have many limitations, but I do not allow them to get in the way of the things I can do.  I try to consider new opportunities, which is why I started blogging. I want to share my life and experiences and struggles with you in the hope of educating the public. Life has countless of gifts in store for us, but we need to take risks to find them. Risks taking helps us learn about ourselves and our abilities. Sometimes we tend to give up without even trying.

Being a wheelchair user, I have learned that I am capable of doing almost anything. Don’t get me wrong it is not easy, and most of the time I do things differently, but I get them done.  Every time I accomplish a new task, it helps to raise my self-esteem. It motivates me to do and try more things. I’ve been discouraged many times, but I get back up and continue to live life. Never give up regardless of the situation as long as you have life you have hope. Till next I hope you found this post helpful.

Tony and Guy Dry Shampoo Review

Hello Lifestylers,

I’m excited to share with you today’s product review. Tony and Guy Matte Dry Shampoo is my latest favorite product. You might be wondering why I am so excited. Well if you’ve read my previous review on the Paul Mitchell Shampoo you know I have oily hair, and it can be difficult to find the right products to suit my needs. I wash my hair every other day, and although my hair typically doesn’t look or feel oily on the second day of not washing it. I can now get away with washing it after the third day. I like to have a fresh and clean feel after not washing my hair a couple of days. I was skeptical but decided to make the purchase. Before buying it, I read online reviews and most were good which encouraged me to buy the dry shampoo.

I can honestly tell you I LOVE this product. It has a nice clean scent and makes my hair feel clean. I have fairly long hair and think hair and doesn’t weigh down my hair. I have been using it for about a month with great results. The only downside about this product is that some may feel it’s a bit pricey but in my opinion, it is worth every penny, I shop through ebates to get money back every time I shop online. If you are not familiar with the ebates program and would like for me to write a post explaining it let me know. Please, let me know if you have tried this product or which one you like? Until next time Lifestylers!

Five Steps To Achieve Your Goals

Hi Lifestylers,

Setting goals can be difficult for some people, but it does not need to be this way. There are benefits to settings goals like they help prioritize what needs to get done promptly. They also help to motivate you to make positive changes. I for one enjoy setting goals it helps me to stay focus on things that need to get done. It is also helpful when you need to juggle several things at once. For instance work, school, and everyday life. The following are steps you can use to help guide you in the process of setting and completing goals.

Step 1: Create a picture of the goal you want to achieve. Also, a time frame of when you want to achieve the goal (s).

Step 2: Purchase an organizer that suits your style. Try to get one that has plenty of space for you to write. If you do not like the idea of an organizer, you can use a notebook.

Step 3: I recommend you buy different color pens and highlighters. This can help distinguish which is for what category (school, work, etc.).

Step 4: You can now start writing your goals. Make sure you start with one if you are not used to setting goals.

Step 5: Finally, check the progress of your goal (s). If you delay or fall off track, don’t beat yourself up. Make it fun and enjoy every minute of it.

Lifestylers, I hope this steps help and motivate you to achieve your dreams! Let me what you do reach your goals. Comment below!
